If you have a mortgage loan with Main
Street Home Mortgage, you may have received mail from
financing companies soliciting you for some type of home
financing. Such mail may come in the form of letters or
note cards, and you may even see the words: "Important
Information About Your Mortgage" or "Urgent" on the
front of the envelopes.
These solicitations are some of the
marketing tactics used by financing companies to
persuade you to contact them to refinance or take out a
second mortgage or home equity line. You may notice that
these letters provide a few personal details about your
mortgage, like your loan amount or that your mortgage
lender is Main Street Home Mortgage.
The fact of the matter is that these
financing companies have independently obtained certain
information about you from the public land records where
your deed of trust or mortgage is recorded. They search
public records to collect information on you - and on
many other homeowners - and mail out their marketing
material based on this public information.
At Main Street Home Mortgage, we want
you to know how we regard and treat your information. We
also think you deserve to know a few things about these
unsolicited mailings:
Main Street Home
Mortgage does not authorize and participate in these
mailings.
Even though some of the letters may lead you to believe
that we gave the financing companies access to your
information, this is not an activity we would ever
participate in.
Main Street Home
Mortgage does not provide any of your information to
financing companies or creditors.
We know that your privacy is important and take
seriously our responsibility to honor that privacy.
Loan information
contained in the public records (what these solicitors
and others have access to):
-
your name (and your co-borrower's
name, if applicable)
-
lender's name
-
property address
-
original loan amount
-
loan type (conventional, FHA or VA)
-
loan closing date
Private
information, not part of public records:
-
loan interest rate
-
monthly mortgage payment
Again, these financing companies do
not have enough information about you, your
creditworthiness or your mortgage loan to provide a
factual analysis about your current home-financing
needs. Marketing activities like this are solely based
on public data.
Should you need additional
clarification regarding these mailings or have questions
concerning your mortgage information, contact Main
Street Home Mortgage at 877-252-5438 or email us at
service@mshmc.com.
You can also contact your Main Street Home Mortgage Loan
Officer.
We're always available to assist with
any of your home financing needs.
